Skoda RS2000 – A Speedy Concept
The Skoda RS2000 is a concept car which aims to challenge the Czech manufacturer’s sensible reputation. Recently showcased at the Auto Expo in Dellhi, as well as last summer’s Worthersee festival in Austria, the RS2000 combines rallying speed with a dynamic yet comfortable ride.

The RS2000 is based on the Fabia, which has been around for over a decade now and has only seen growing success throughout this time. Winning What Car’s ‘Car of the Year’ in 2000 and gaining a surge of interest from the clever ‘Cake’ ad-campaigns for the second generation model, Skoda have enjoyed increasing popularity in recent years, with big sales in both the UK and Europe. But with the RS2000, they’re taking the practical family car out on the road in style.
Far from just a hatchback, the RS2000 is based on the framework of a Fabia RS but with added oomph to create a fast car; 18-inch alloy wheels, racing harnesses and a twin-turbo power engine. Skoda have held onto their more pragmatic features including rear doors and a roomy interior for four whilst borrowing some of the spirit of road-racing from their S2000 rally car.
Doubling their sales in India for 2011 and seeing sales rise worldwide, it seems that Skoda are finally leaving their geeky image behind in the dust trails.
